No matter what, you're going to have a great time watching this movie. It is funny and audacious and handcrafted, which is a quality that feels increasingly absent from the modern cinematic landscape. It is hard to get an honest-to-God comedy released these days. It is even harder to get one of this kind that is as bizarre and metatextual and devoid of any real box office draw, except its own aggregate goodwill and perhaps the increasing cachet of Matt Johnson.

I really enjoyed watching this film, so take it with a grain of salt when I say that it also leaves me a little cold without the aegis of some of the truly remarkable and original shenanigans it pulls off (the details of which I'm being intentionally vague on so as not to spoil anyone or anything). I think the best way to engage with this is less as a film and more as an incredible and hilarious experiment that happened to be released in theaters. An achievement of some kind, if not cinema.
